Premium Control

The Six Zero Ruby Pickleball Paddle is a world first paddle that uses 100% Aramid fiber, sourced from DuPont™ Kevlar® as its face material. The face material has a unique combination of high strength, high modulus, toughness and thermal stability. It has high impact resistance and is durable (abrasion resistant), meaning the paddle surface will last a long time and will be more resistant to wear compared to existing carbon faced paddles.  In addition, the cross-weave cloth pattern provides a bump in spin, grip and feel. The way the face grabs the ball really stands out along with the power generated. Six Zero spent over 10 months developing the Ruby paddle. There is a measurable difference between existing face materials and Kevlar® in terms of production workability and the process of imparting a raw textured surface. The Ruby paddle has an eye-catching red cloth matched with white trim highlights. The unibody paddle design builds on the carbon fusion edge thermoform technology developed by Six Zero across its Diamond Series.

High-Tech Production Process

To produce the highest quality and performance paddles our Ruby paddles are manufactured using multi-stage cold and hot mold process technology.

Aerodynamically Engineered Flared Design

The Black Ruby is designed to optimize reach and aerodynamics. A slightly flared shape improves the sweet spot in the core hitting zone of the paddle.

DuPont™ Kevlar® Textured Surface

A newly developed Premium American DuPont™ Kevlar® textured surface that provides amazing spin, grip and feel on the ball. Multiple interwoven layers add strength, power and controlled pop.

Carbon Fusion Edge Technology

To improve robustness, durability and responsiveness the Six Zero Team have developed Carbon Fusion Edge Technology.  Foam injection followed by a light-weight carbon seam fusing the top and bottom faces of the paddle results in a tighter crisp feel and an increased sweet spot that radiates around the paddle perimeter.

Premium Honeycomb Polymer Core

Tried and tested to ensure the ultimate power engine for lasting performance. The 16mm thick core gives the best power to control ratio.

3D Carbon Forged Elongated Handle

To maximize strength and performance Six Zero engineers have designed a 3D carbon forged handle.  The carbon face and fusion edge technology extends down the full length of the handle and is forged together under heat and pressure – 3D carbon.  The construction is designed to reduce vibration, ensuring comfortable play and a responsive feel.  The design allows for optimal flex, improving the paddle neck sweet spot.  A tapered neck and a 5.5” elongated handle accommodates for double backhand players. The handle is finished with a premium custom Six Zero perforated leather grip with a 4.125-4.25” circumference – suited to all sized hands.

Perfectly Balanced

Our engineering and quality control team paid particular attention to the importance of a perfectly weighted and balanced paddle. Ergonomics play an important role in player comfort and control.

Ruby 14mm vs Ruby 16mm

I play with the 2 Ruby: 14mm and 16mm. They look the same but differ slightly when it comes time to play with one or the other.

The 16mm: slightly head heavy, a little less maneuverable at the NVZ, larger sweet spot, more stable from the baseline when it comes to producing good drives, the ball seems to stay stuck to the surface longer compared to the 14mm, for the same playing time the “arm” will be more tired with the 16mm.

The 14mm: more evenly balanced, excellent maneuverability at the NVZ, smaller sweet spot than the 16mm but still correct in the majority of situations, prone to twist a little on heavy balls hit off center but this happens infrequently, for a Same playing time, less “arm” fatigue than with the 16mm.

When you go from 14mm to 16mm, the first balls may be too long but the adjustment happens quickly! The two paddles make it easy to produce a lot of effects.

In short, these are 2 excellent paddles whose final performances turn out to be very similar. Depending on where you are on the pickleball adventure path, it remains to be seen whether you prefer a more easily maneuverable paddle (14mm) or a slightly heavier paddle at the head (16mm) for a little more of impact force if you have the “swing” that allows you to do so. The general trend is that I prefer to play with the 14mm in doubles and with the 16mm in singles.
