Shoe Renu

The program extends a compassionate hand (or shoe) to those less fortunate on the Downtown Eastside of Vancouver.

Unfortunately, the Shoe Renu program has been temporarily suspended due to COVID-19.

Shoe Renu: Shoe Distribution and Foot Care Clinics

Twice a year, in late fall and early spring, we distribute approximately 500 pairs of freshly cleaned shoes to those who need them as well as provide foot care from an on-site, volunteer podiatrist.

We depend on our customers to drop off pre-loved athletic and walking shoes to our store year round. Collected shoes are stored by the Knights of Columbus and commercially cleaned by Canadian Linen. Two podiatrists from the BCPMA work with us to provide foot care services.  Shoe Renu is hosted by the Salvation Army Harbour Light at 119 E Cordova St.

It Takes a Community To Run Shoe Renu
To run the popular program, we partner with The Salvation Army Harbour Light, the Rotary Club of Vancouver, the Knights of Columbus, Canadian Linen and the BC Podiatric Medical Association.

If you are buying a new pair of shoes, we will gladly take your old pair and donate to the program.

A clean and comfortable pair of shoes can make a huge difference in someone’s life.
