PUT IT IN REVERSE!
With the introduction of the Clash 100, Wilson promised us a “revolution”. They delivered. On paper the Clash 100 does not seem to leap off the page. Its weight, headsize, and string pattern all seemed to indicate Wilson had crafted another solid performing midweight racket. It’s not until you hit a ball with the Clash 100 that you realize it does not feel like anything else on the market. Infact, the closest comparison we could come up with after our initial playtest was that it reminded us of a classic “woody”, albeit with way more power and spin. Using a system of carbon mapping which Wilson calls Free Flex, the Clash 100 is able to be more flexible than any racket currently on the market yet still offer just as much power as other comparable models. Couple this with a 295g weight and very headlight balance, you’re left with a racket that is super easy to swing for players of all levels, an incredibly unique feel at contact, and one of the most fun playing rackets in a long time.
