Two runs a week:

  • Tuesdays – Intensity Training
    Get your heart pumping with our high-energy Intensity Training sessions! This fun, challenging workout is designed to build speed, strength, and improve running technique through a variety of drills, intervals, and exercises. Whether you're looking to increase your speed or enhance your overall running efficiency, this session will help you become a stronger, faster runner.
  • Saturdays – Endurance Run
    On Saturdays, we shift gears and focus on building your stamina with a relaxed Endurance Run. These steady-paced long runs are perfect for improving your aerobic capacity. With multiple distance options to suit your fitness level, you’ll enjoy the challenge of longer distances while building lasting endurance in a supportive group atmosphere.

  • All Levels Welcome
    Whether you walk, run/walk, or run at different paces, there’s a group for you. Feel free to switch groups weekly to match your energy, whether you’re pushing yourself or taking it easy.

  • Expert Coaching & Support
    Coach Lara brings over 35 years of experience as a personal trainer and coach in running, cycling, and triathlon. She’s helped athletes qualify for premier events like the Boston and Berlin Marathons and the Hawaii Ironman. Her expertise, passion, and personal athletic journey will inspire you to achieve your best.

    Build lasting connections, stay inspired, and celebrate achievements together! From post-run coffee to fun events like beer tastings and clinic celebrations, our vibrant community makes every run or walk unforgettable.

  • 15-minute walk, run/walk or run warm up
  • 20-30 minute main set - intervals, tempo, hills, drills, etc
  • 10-minute walk, run/walk or run cool down
  • Stretch & high fives!

What a typical Saturday training session looks like:

  • Workout overview and route descriptions
  • In-store dynamic warm up
  • Steady long, easy run with multiple distance options
  • Stretch & high fives!

Lara has over 35 years experience as a personal trainer, run, cycling and triathlon coach. She has guided athletes to qualify and compete in premier events including the Boston, Berlin, New York City and London Marathons, Hawaii Ironman and Ironman Canada. She is a caring coach who brings a wealth of knowledge and understanding from her personal experience as an athlete and loves to share this enthusiasm.

Can I drop-in and determine if the R&R Run Club is a good fit for me?

Absolutely! We offer the first week free as a trial. Just show up on the day that works for you.

After that, you can also drop-in to try any day or any group to see if it is the right fit for you. Drop-in fee is $10 per session.

What gear do I need?

Most importantly, make sure you have a pair of comfortable, well-fitted running shoes.

Whether you decide to wear shorts or pants, or a long sleeve versus a tank will depend on what temperature range you tolerate best. Regardless, consider clothing made with moisture-managing materials as they help with regulating body temperature.

What if I’ve never run before?

 
If you’ve never run before, don’t worry—you’re in the right place!

Our Run Club is welcoming to beginners, and we’ll help you ease into running at your own pace. Whether you prefer walking, run/walking, or gradually building up to running, we’ve got you covered. With expert coaching and a supportive community, you'll receive all the guidance and encouragement you need to build confidence and reach your goals, no matter where you're starting from.    

What are your routes?

We typically meet at Rackets & Runners at 3880 Oak St, Vancouver, where we kick off our runs. From this location, we have access to several scenic routes that showcase the surroundings and excellent running paths. We also hold off-site runs at different locations to keep things fresh and exciting.If the starting point changes, we’ll keep you informed through our weekly newsletter or a post in the R&R Run Club WhatsApp community.

Is there a secure location to leave my stuff?

We have an area in the Rackets & Runners store dedicated to storing your belongings.

Do you have any social time?

After every Saturday run, we head over to Pallet Coffee Roasters for post-run beverages and treats. In addition to that, we meet on a semi-regular basis outside of Run Club for birthday celebrations, destination runs, and other fun events. It’s a supportive group with a lot of friendly faces.

Anything else I should know?

Just come out and have some fun! We don’t take ourselves too seriously, but you’ll get a good workout in.
